“ A Hidden Gem with Heart and History We had the pleasure of visiting this charming little restaurant and it absolutely made our day. The place has an oldies vibe that makes you feel like you've stepped back into a simpler, friendlier time. The food is all freshly made and absolutely delicious—clearly crafted with care. What stood out just as much as the food was the service. Two young ladies were working the floor, and they never once lost their smiles. Despite the summer heat, they moved from table to table with cheerful energy, constantly checking if anyone needed drink refills or anything else. Their hospitality was genuine and warm, something you just don’t find everywhere anymore. Make sure to flip through the menu and read the story behind the “Liars’ Table”—it’s a lighthearted piece of local history that adds even more character to the experience. Highly recommend stopping by if you’re in the area. It’s the kind of place that stays with you long after the meal is over. ”
“ Wow great quality food, big portions and fun atmosphere. The service was outstanding!! When Paul asked us if there was anything else he could get us to make it even better I was in love! Outstanding customer service!! ”

“ My crew and I had a wonderful experience at High's enjoying a classic hamburger, vanilla milkshake and the patty melt. Paul, our waiter was exceptional and the overall quality was superb. Highly recommend. ”
“ Me and my wife went for a day trip to Highland County and spent a relaxing time in Monterey. Stopped in at Highs Restaurant and was not disappointed. Food and staff was excellent! Would highly recommend going there without the business of the maple festival. Way more pleasant time to immerse in their ways and culture! ”
“ Lovely place!! While staying at a hotel across the street, we ventured out on a cold stormy night and found ourselves in a welcoming, warm restaurant amid regulars. Such a great experience! The food was really good. Our waitress, working all the tables, didn’t miss a beat. Always helpful and attentive. The strawberry rhubarb pie was outstanding. Bonus, they have doggie meals on the menu ”
“ Great food, great service. Nice salad bar. Very retro interior. ”
“ Cosy place with good food. After a chilly ride on motorcycle up from Staunton I appreciated the hot tomato basil soup! Quaint retro theme feels genuine ”
